Saturday afternoon Jenny, Patrick, Camille and baby Ford came to see me. Ford. The name alone is enough to make me think my two little ones need another sibling. Such a sweet baby boy. And big sis has always been a delight. She is not yet four, but she always gives me the greatest contemplative, off camera gazes. Such a deep thinker, that one. And Jenny and Patrick were as sweet as ever. This was my third time to work with them. The main goal of this session was to get a picture of Ford wearing an heirloom baptismal gown. Camille wore it when she was a baby, Patrick wore it when he was, his mother wore it when she was, her mother wore it when she was, and her parent before her . . . the line of ancestry gets a bit blurry from there, but obviously this was a very special gown. Here are a few sneakys of one of the sweetest families. I'd like to point out that, at 7 weeks, Ford was very sweet and calm, especially in his mommy and daddy's arms. And Miss Camille was so patient. She loved posing for me, especially by herself. At the end of the session, when we were trying to get some sweet sibling shots, Ford had decided he was done. We kept trying to calm him between shots, and Camille was still ready to pose, down to the last minute. But after a few minutes, when it was clear Ford was done-done, this is the expression I caught from Camille. In no way a reflection of how she feels about baby Ford (she gave him the bunny she played with as a baby, for heaven's sake). But this picture makes me smile each and every time I see it. Such a "How do these people expect me to work with this" expression! Jenny and Patrick, congratulations on the perfect addition to your picture perfect family! It's always a pleasure seeing you guys!

I spent Saturday morning with 5 little ones. 5. As the oldest of 5 children, I felt right at home. Nicole and her sister-in-law wanted to surprise their mother-in-law with a Cousins Pic. Since two of the cousins were in from Atlanta, timing was key. The kids ranged in age from less than one year to 7. And they could not have been more cooperative. And special thanks to the grown-ups who tagged along to play Wranglers! As you can see by each and everyone of these beauties, good looks run rampant in that family. And do not get me started on the curls on those girls and sweet little Joseph! Or Miss Natalie's eyes (they are exquisitely haunting, in any light). Nicole, I know you have been anxiously awaiting your sneak. I'm still editing the group shots, but here are a few of the individuals. Enjoy, and thanks so much for bringing the crew out! Friday afternoon Andie and Jason came to visit me. And they brought along one of the most angelic little boys. Meet Tucker. And believe me when I say, I'm in love with this boy. At 6 weeks, he was such a calm little baby. And strong. He literally rolled over, unassisted, during one of our tummy poses! He loved all of my soft blankies, he loved being held by his mama and daddy, and oh how the camera loved him! This is usally a tricky age to photograph, but Tucker could not have been easier. Calm must run in the family, because Andie and Jason could not have been more relaxed, which made for a great session. Thanks, guys, for coming out to see me! He is such a handsome little man, and it was an honor. Enjoy your sneak!

My plan was to not work over Easter weekend. But when a potential client calls to schedule a large family portrait, because part of the family is in from out of town (Thailand, to be exact), it makes it a wee bit hard to say no. So Darrelene (and her oh-so-fabulous daughter-in-law Hayley) and I worked out the logistics. The group of 11 would meet me at one of my favorite spots for a very casual, laid back family portrait. Enter Supat, Ryan, Tu, Simon, Adam, Julie, Aaron, Taylor, Megan. Everyone was a bit worried about Simon and the less than warm temps, but the adorable baby did great! Megan and Taylor, supersisters and high-jumper extraordinaires could not have been cuter (or more willing to pose and smile for me!), and all the grown-ups were so much fun. Even Ryan & Solo, who so did not want to be there! Darrelene, you have a lovely, lovely family, and it was an honor working with everyone. Hayley, thank you for coordinating everything; you should think about being an event planner or something! Again, khorb koon, guys, and enjoy your sneak!

You might remember baby Asher and his fantastic blue eyes from last month. This month his lovely mama wanted some spring pics of her two little ones. And, oh my heavens, did she dress them adorably! Matching Cherry Dress and Romper (from the infamous St. Louis Woman's Exchange). The goal was to get some pictures during Dallas Blooms, in time for her husband's birthday. We succeeded on both fronts, I think. Although, truth be told, the tulips were few and far between. As I mentioned before, I always have so much fun with Lauren. Today was no exception. Lauren, I'm so glad the weather cooperated, the kids looked adorable, and it was so much fun seeing you! Thanks for a fun morning/afternoon, and enjoy your sneaky!

Here are a few shots from a "grown up" session I did this past weekend. Rob and Scott came out to take some headshots for their company's website. In a nutshell, these two great guys help adult children plan for the time that they will be involved in the decision making/care-giving for their aging parents. Obviously a difficult time in any family's life, and I couldn't think of two better, caring hearts than theirs to lead someone through that rough path. They were recently featured in the Dallas Morning News, and the concept is a great one. Rob brought along my sweet Alexis to the shoot, and I couldn't help but snap one or two shots of her impossibly baby blues. I'm addicted. Thanks, guys, for coming out. And keep up the great work!

Monday and Tuesday I had the amazing opportunity to take spring portraits for a wonderful little pre-school. Two hundred little scholars, ranging in age from 18 months to 5 years, gave me their best smiles and charmed me to death. I wanted to take the shots outdoors, as nothing says spring like Mother Nature herself. Wouldn't you know the days I scheduled pictures, Mother Nature would decide to usher in arctic winds (up to 30 miles or more!) on Monday and sub-freezing temps Tuesday morning! But the little ones weatherd the weather beautifully, and we managed to capture some very cute smiles. I wanted to focus on the adorable faces, so I used no props and kept my background very simple: a white picket fence (painted by yours truly) and some large potted flowers. I hope the parents are pleased. I've been invited back to do the Graduation and Class portraits, and I am looking forward to seeing my little friends again! If anyone is interested in having me come out and take some pics at your little one's pre-school, I'd love to do it again! A thousand thank yous to Ms. Charlotte and her unbelievable staff! They had the day planned out to a tee, and they made my job so much easier! Special thank you to Stephen for playing my assistant on Monday, and to Jenny O. for helping me on Tuesday! You guys rocked the reflector like nobody's business.

My second Sunday Session was with another little 7 month old boy and his very sweet parents. I worked with Lauren and Wayne when they chose me to do their maternity session, as well as baby Caleb's newborn session. Even then, only a few weeks old, he was throwing me the sweetest newborn smiles. Not much has changed since then, save for the fact that he is older now, can sit up by himself and is literally on the verge of crawling any day. By now, when I see Lauren and Wayne, it's like seeing old friends. And our sessions are usually spent catching up with one another in between shots (or bonding over how hard it is to find cute baby boy clothes!). I gotta give Lauren and Wayne credit: I told Lauren to bring an extra blanket, in case the grass was too wet or if Caleb got cold. True to her Type A+ personality, she brought an entire suitcase of extra blankets, a sleeping bag, and I'm pretty sure she would have brought an electric blanket, had she found a long enough extension cord! She was also so sweet as she sang "Amazing Grace" to her boy. Although, truth be told, his favorite seemed to be "Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail." And Wayne did an outstanding job playing my assistant when he wasn't in the pictures. But I must give most of the credit to little Caleb. By the time our session began, the winds had started picking up and it was very, very cold. But he was such a sport and gave me those sweet, gummy smiles every photographer dreams of. You gotta love Texas weather. Especially in the spring. The cold, windy mess that was Sunday morning almsot made my two families reschedule their sessions. Lucky for me, they braved the elements, and we got some great pics. My first Sunday session was with the lovely Deidra and her equally handsome "boys", Matt and Alex. Alex is 7 months and was such a trooper during the shoot! He sits up by himself so well and has such beautiful blue eyes! And don't get me started on his sweet smile. Matt, the doting daddy, did a great job of bundling his baby boy up in between shots. And Deidra had to totally rethink everyone's clothing choices at the last minute, due to the crazy weather, and I thought she did a great job! Even though we were in shooting in 40-something degree weather, don't you think they look so springy, dear reader? Little Alex tolerated the cold long enough to give us some very sweet shots. Dee, I look forward to our next session, in much warmer weather! Thank you guys, so much, for braving the cold. Enjoy your sneak, and stay warm!

Stephanie's initial correspondence to me said something about how her three year old son hates having his picture taken. Right. So if today's fabulous session was him hating pictures, I'd love to see him loving the lens! This little red-headed tot could not have been easier (or more fun) to work with. Ever the charmer and full of smiles for me (and my Wubsy impression). And just as adorable was sweet baby Claire. This little princess will turn one in two weeks and cold not have been any cuter; a big fan of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and so very generous with her sweet smiles. Stephanie's babies are the same age apart as my own, so we had lots to talk about in between shots. Stephanie and Dave, I had so much fun with you guys!
